Sprockit ("we," "us") is a help app for everyday questions, owned and operated by Ask Sprockit LLC. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We've kept it short and plain.
The short version
- Sprockit works without an account. We don't ask for your name, email, or sign-in.
- Most of the app runs entirely on your device.
- The only time anything leaves your device is when you choose to use Online photo help and tap Send photo. That feature is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off again anytime in Settings.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
What we handle, and why
Photos (only when you ask for online help). If you take or choose a photo and tap Send photo, that photo is sent over the internet to be read so we can send back simple, step-by-step help. The photo is used only to answer your question. We don't store your photos to build a profile, we don't sell them, and we don't use them to advertise to you. If you never use Online photo help, your photos never leave your device.
A device code (for fair use). When you use Online photo help, the app sends a random code that identifies your device (Apple's "identifier for vendor"). We use it only to count how many photo answers a device has used in a month, so the free service stays available to everyone. This code is not your name and is not tied to your identity.
That's it. Searching, browsing topics, and reading answers aloud all happen on your device and are not sent to us.
Who processes the data
To provide Online photo help, your photo passes through:
- Cloudflare — runs the small server ("worker") that receives your photo and forwards it for analysis. Cloudflare acts as our service provider.
- Google (Gemini AI) — reads the photo and generates the step-by-step help that comes back to you. Google's handling of data sent to its AI is governed by Google's own API terms. We do not use your photos to train our own systems or for advertising.
We share your photo with these providers solely to answer your request, and only after you have agreed by tapping Send photo.
Your choices
- Turn Online photo help on or off anytime in Settings. When it's off, no photos are sent and the rest of Sprockit keeps working.
- You can use the entire question library and topic browser without ever sending any data off your device.
Data retention
Photos are processed to generate your answer and are not kept by us to build any profile. The monthly per-device usage count resets each month.
Children
Sprockit is designed for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the photo feature, contact us and we'll help.
Security
Data sent for Online photo help travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
